There are 3 championship courses located within a 10 minute drive. All courses at Villamatin, Campoamor and Las Ramblas are 72 par, 18 holes. Further a field but not too far are La Finca, Mosa and Alicante and if that's not enough, less than an hour drive away is the world famous La Manga. It is open between the beginning of May to the middle of October. The numerous slides vary from tame pleasurable ones to some pretty hair-raising ones such as Big Bang, Kamikaze and Black Hole. There are extensive grass areas for picnics and sunbathers as well as various shops and cash dispensers. Restaurants, pizzerias, bars, coffee shops and ice cream shops are in abundance. The other track is near Santa Pola. They both offer safe, fast fun for all the family with snack bars and restaurants on site. Boat Trips There are many boat trips all around Torrevieja. Take a trip to the nearby Island of Tabarca or sail along the coast and admire the beautiful scenery. You can also enjoy an evening dinner cruise with on board entertainment during the summer months. Scuba Diving and snorkelling The clean waters in this area of the Mediterranean are particularly suited for snorkelling and diving. You will find a number of instructors in the area, who can teach you to dive, if you are fully qualified, you will be able to just hire the equipment from them. The Hormigas Islands near Cabo de Palos have been declared a Marine Reserve due to their exceptional beauty and the conservation of the sea floor, but they are also acknowledged by scuba divers as being one of Spain 's premier dive sites. Other Water sports Pedallos can be hired on all the major beaches, Cabo Roig included, with jet skis and banana boats on the larger beaches. Sailing,water skiing and wind surfing are also available nearby. The shallow waters and warm winds of the Mar Menor make it ideal for both Windsurfing and Kite boarding, both of which can be hired from various shops and schools along the Mar Menor shoreline. sports centre. Health spas Take a medicinal bath in the lagoon. The water is supposed be a cure for heart troubles, rheumatism and respiratory ailments - be warned though, the aroma of the mud is quite pungent! Funfair The funfair by the Torrevieja marina is open in the summer months and is great fun for all ages, they have a good selection of rides, including a full flight simulator, where you can take off and land a Boeing 737! Horse Riding Horse riding is available at nearby stables and riding school. Theme Park Terra Mitica is a fantastic theme park north of Alicante . It is a journey to re-discover the ancient civilizations. The park is set among the foothills just outside Benidorm. There are super fast and super slow rides to suit all ages and bravery! Each area is composed of cunningly miniaturized buildings, built of stone and masonry plus waterways, rivers, islands, rides, theatres, souvenir shops, snack-bars, restaurants and an astonishing "feelie" cinema. There is a surprise around every corner at this amazing state of the art theme park. It is a fun day out for all the family.
